My name is John Frey, Ella’s husband of 51 years. I had never done this and throughly enjoyed painting this scene. The only change that I made was the sky. We don’t have purple skies here in Texas, so I made a change to blue with streaks of white clouds. I am looking forward to doing another of your paintings in the future.

The canvas and paints were fine. But, there was no paper “key” – this makes it difficult later on to go back and fill in holes and make touch-ups – the numbers have disappeared. Luckily, at the start, I took 9 photos of different segments of the canvas to have a way to work around this issue. But the key would have been much better and not too expensive!My greatest complaint is that you are showing a photograph of a still life. This is not the same as the painting that will come from this kit. Why do you not post on your website an actual finished version of the painting? In my case, there is no handle on the white vase. The vase looks a lot different (not shiny) from the photo on your site. The fruits (apples and pears) are not as lifelike as the photo. (Oddly, the photo posted by another reviewer does have a handle on the vase and the coloration on the vase is different!) I’m not saying that my finished painting is not pleasant, but you are not showing a representative picture of what we are buying, and I think that is very wrong.
